At the bench since 1986
Our story
One man, one bench, forty years.
Abel Quarrington learned the trade from old Mr. Delacourt, sweeping floors and sorting heels in the back of this same shop. When Mr. Delacourt retired in 1986, he handed Abel the keys and his best hammer. Abel still uses it.
He has resoled work boots for three generations of the same families, saved wedding shoes on the morning of the wedding, and taught more than one teenager how to polish properly. He has never owned a computer. His granddaughter Nell set this page up so you'd know where to find him.
If it was made well the first time, it's worth making right again.— Abel Quarrington
